UN asks Iran for proof of nuclear intentions

[Khaleej Times]- United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon stated in a news conference that Iran must comply with the resolutions that have been set forth. The UN is also asking that inspectors be permitted to have access to facilities to prove that Iran’s nuclear ambitions are not the creation of weapons.

India to pay for oil from Iran in yen?

[Bloomberg]- India has apparently been asked to pay for a portion of its oil imports from Iran in yen. This is due to concerns over the value of the rupee. The two Asian nations are attempting to continue their lucrative oil trade. The Indian rupee has been falling in value while the Japanese yen has been on the rise.

Iran enriching uranium at Fordo plant near Qom

[BBC]- Iran is now enriching uranium in an underground site. “The International Atomic Energy Agency said medium-level enrichment had begun at the Fordo plant, in northern Iran.

Tehran has said it plans to carry out uranium enrichment there for purely peaceful purposes. The West argues Iran is building a nuclear weapons capacity,” a bbc.co.uk report explains.

Pak-Iran gas pipeline to violate sanctions: US

News24 reports: “A suicide bomber blew himself up, killing seven commanders and 23 other people.

The headquarters of the armed forces blamed the bombing on ‘terrorists’ backed by ‘the Great Satan America and its ally Britain’.”
